With over 30 years of experience in architectural acoustics design and noise and vibration control, Du Xiaojun began his career as a lecturer at China Textile University (now Donghua University), where he focused on noise and vibration control in textile workshops and machinery prior to continuing his studies in Australia in 1991.
He earned a Master of Engineering Science from Monash University in Melbourne in 1994, with a thesis on simulating the sound fields of highway noise barriers using numerical methods.
From 1995 to 2000, he worked as a Noise and Vibration Engineer at the HRL (Herman Research Laboratory), a research institute under the Victorian State Government of Australia, where he contributed to numerous projects addressing industrial, transportation, and environmental noise and vibration issues.
In 2000, he joined Marshall Day Acoustics (MDA), a world-renowned acoustics firm, as a Senior Acoustic Consultant. During his tenure, he participated in the acoustic design of many large-scale projects, including hotels, office towers, stadiums, museums, and performance halls, as well as rail transit and industrial noise and vibration control initiatives.
