Key Research Achievements

  1. Extended the concept of metasurfaces to acoustics, enabling control of low-frequency sound waves using ultrathin lightweight structures.

  2. Proposed a weak absorption unit resonance coupling mechanism, developing metasurface-based ultra-broadband sound-absorbing structures that address the challenge of low-frequency broadband noise control.

  3. Developed acoustic impedance and sound propagation models for metasurfaces under high-speed airflow, high sound intensity, and multi-modal noise sources, leading to the creation of lightweight broadband acoustic metasurface liners. These innovations solved critical noise control challenges under extreme operating conditions in China's large-scale low-temperature wind tunnels.

Recognition and Impact
Research findings have been featured multiple times as Editors' Suggestions by the American Physical Society (APS). Special reports have been published by the American Institute of Physics (AIP), Phys.org, Physics Buzz, Science Daily, and other professional physics journals and science websites.
